CATHERINE JURCA   |   Vice President—Preservation

Catherine was elected to the Board of Directors in 2013 and currently serves as Vice President and Chair of the Preservation Advocacy Committee, where she has led efforts to preserve Craftsman bungalows and other historic properties, to extend Mills Act contracts to historic district contributors, and to require City selection of consultants who prepare Environmental Impact Reports. Catherine and her partner Scott Fraser live in the Rudolph Schindler-designed Rodriguez House, No. 24 on the Glendale Register of Historic Resources, which is located in the Niodrara Drive Historic District. As a professor of Film and American Literature at Caltech, she has written extensively about Glendale's most famous fictional resident: Mildred Pierce.
