Please join The Glendale Historical Society as we once again partner with Forest Lawn-Glendale “Sculptures of Forest Lawn” a lecture followed by a tour.

Part One: The Sculptures of Forest Lawn - Lecture
Thursday, April 27, 2023 – Wee Kirk o’ the Heather – 7 pm

Participants will enjoy a lecture by Dr. James Fishburne, Director of the Museum, about the background and history of the vast collection of statuary on display and in the archives of Forest Lawn. The lecture will be held at the beautiful Wee Kirk o’ the Heather at Forest Lawn, Glendale.

Part Two: The Sculptures of Forest Lawn - Tour
Sunday, April 30, 2020 – The Great Mausoleum – 1-3 pm

Participants will enjoy a private tour of the Great Mausoleum as docents from Forest Lawn and The Glendale Historical Society take us into areas of the structure that are no longer open to the general public on a daily basis.  Here we will see some of the finest examples of statuary in the world and experience first-hand the exquisite beauty of this art form.  Following the tour we will have a reception with appetizers and wine in the Memorial Court of Honor below the beautiful stained glass replica of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.” 

Note: There are stairs in the Great Mausoleum. No handicap access.

Free parking is available on the street surrounding the entrance to the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Glendale.
