KATHLEEN CLARK   |   Director

An artist and photography editor, Kathleen directed the contemporary galleries SPOT Photo Works and Clark|Oshin in Los Angeles and was Photo Director of Los Angeles Magazine and LA Weekly. She has a master’s degree in studio art from UC Irvine and served as faculty at USC and Art Center College of Design, where she continues to advise students and jury exhibitions. Her personal work explores themes of American history, environment, language and heritage. Along with partner Beth Marlis, she was active in the resistance to “mansionization” in the Carthay Square/Faircrest Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles prior to moving to Glendale in 2015. Together they have (mostly) restored their 1928 Spanish Colonial Revival beauty in the Bellehurst Hillslopes neighborhood. They recently filed a city application for historic district designation of a portion of the Bellehurst Hillslopes tract. Kathleen is a member of the Preservation Action Committee.
