Join us for a family fun Saturday event as we bake alongside Sona Tatiyants and her daughters. We will bake the original 1939 Nestle Toll House Cookie. Plus, there will be entertainment from special musical guest Jane Sheldon.
The chocolate chip cookie was developed by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938. She came up with the idea of adding chocolate to her cookies, which she first named chocolate crunch cookie. This led to Nestle's buying the rights to the recipe and the Toll House name in 1939.
Sona Tatiyants:

In her professional career, Sona is an estate planning attorney and the owner of Lynk Law Inc., a boutique law firm in Glendale that just celebrated its 10-year anniversary. She is a board member of the Glendale Educational Foundation and loves contributing her time and efforts to our schools and city. Sona is an avid baker, and you will often find her baking with her daughters, whether to bring goodies to her office, pass out cookies to neighbors, or raise funds for a bake sale.
Sona is excited to lead this Zoom baking class with her daughters, Emily and Ellie.
Jane Sheldon:
Jane Sheldon bursts onto the scene with songs that are steeped in California sunshine. As a child growing up in Los Angeles she was no stranger to long car rides, where her father exposed her to many different genres of music. “I grew up on those great songs of the 50’s and 60’s with the elaborate vocal harmonies and soaring choruses. I’m sure they have infused my songwriting today; those were the benchmarks.” Sheldon is a dynamic performer and multi-instrumentalist, moving seamlessly between guitar and piano, but it’s her songwriting that makes her stand out above the fold. Her music has been featured on hit shows such as The CW's Nancy Drew, The Big Bang Theory and The Real World. She is also a founding member of the Southern California band American Bloomers.
